What RE:Writeoff doesn't do
- · Read-only access — we never send, modify, or delete anything in your Fastmail
- · Irrelevant emails are dropped immediately; we only keep what's tied to a deductible activity
- · Mailbox credentials are encrypted at rest with envelope encryption
- · You can revoke access from Fastmail or from inside RE:Writeoff at any time
Fastmail FAQ
Does this work with my custom domain on Fastmail?
Yes. Any Fastmail-hosted domain works with the Fastmail preset.
What scope should the app password have?
IMAP & POP only. RE:Writeoff doesn't send mail or modify your account, so giving narrow scope is safer.
Will the app password show in my Fastmail security log?
Yes — Fastmail logs every IMAP login. RE:Writeoff polls on a schedule, so expect roughly one entry per scan.
