Track REPS hours from your Outlook inbox
RE:Writeoff connects to Outlook (read-only) and turns property-related emails into IRS-grade activity logs — automatically.
What we capture from your Outlook
- Maintenance threads with tenants and contractors
- Vendor invoices and receipts
- Insurance renewal notices and policy documents
- Property-management updates and statements
- Tax-relevant correspondence (HOA, utilities, escrow)
Address types: @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com.
Connecting Outlook takes about 2 minutes
- 1
Turn on two-step verification
Open Microsoft 2FA settings. These steps are for personal Outlook / Hotmail. Microsoft 365 work accounts use modern auth — reach out for setup help.
- 2
Generate an app password
Microsoft will show an app passwords section once 2FA is on. Click Create a new app password.
- 3
Copy the password
Microsoft displays a one-time string. Copy it.
- 4
Paste it into RE:Writeoff
Back in the connect modal, paste it into the App password field.

What RE:Writeoff doesn't do
- · Read-only access — we never send, modify, or delete anything in your Outlook
- · Irrelevant emails are dropped immediately; we only keep what's tied to a deductible activity
- · Mailbox credentials are encrypted at rest with envelope encryption
- · You can revoke access from Outlook or from inside RE:Writeoff at any time
Outlook FAQ
Does this work with Microsoft 365 work accounts?
Microsoft 365 work/school accounts use modern authentication and don't issue app passwords. For those, use the CC/forward path — your tracking address works with any email account.
Hotmail still works?
Yes. @hotmail.com, @live.com, and @msn.com all run on the same Outlook backend.
Can I connect both Outlook and Gmail to one portfolio?
Yes. Connect as many inboxes as you want. RE:Writeoff dedupes across them automatically.
